What is not accepted at Green Depot:
Milk, as defined under the Canadian Food and Drug Regulations, is deemed, is an essential nutritional product – no recycling deposit is charged. This includes flavored and goat’s milk as well. Beverages labeled as a milkshake or made with milk DO NOT fall into this category and are accepted by our program.
Plant-Based Milk alternatives, such as soy or cashew milk, that are a source of protein and labelled as ‘fortified’ are not accepted. TIP: If the container is labeled as ‘not a source of protein’ it is accepted.
Infant formula
Meal replacement beverages and formulated liquid diets
Concentrated beverages (those that must be mixed before drinking)
Distilled water containers
Containers greater than 5 liters
Beverage containers bought outside of our province
Refillable containers that are collected and reused through a local distributor program. These include glass beer bottles from local breweries.
